Pastor Andy has grown up in United Methodist parsonages as a preacher’s kid. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Houghton College and attended seminary at Colgate Rochester Divinity School earning his Master of Divinity degree.
For 20 years, Pastor Andy and Tina served several churches in Western New York before moving to the Daytona Beach, Florida area in 2007. In Florida, Andy served as a Hospital and Hospice Chaplain with Halifax Health Medical Center. Tina also thrived in her career as a Neurosurgery Medical Assistant with Halifax Health and also the Center of Neurosurgery with the University of Florida – Shands Hospital.
After 13 years of enjoying the sunshine and beaches of Florida, Andy and Tina felt God’s calling to return back home to serve again in pastoral ministry among the amazing people of Upstate New York.
Pastor Andy’s focus of ministry is:
“To serve and lead God’s people to obediently follow Jesus Christ by studying God’s word, extending love and compassion with joy and grace, all to God’s glory and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.”
Tina and Andy have 3 children and 15 grandchildren in Arizona, West Virginia, and NY. Tina is extremely talented in crafts – weaving, knitting, crocheting, stained glass, quilting, cooking, and baking. She enjoys praising God in worship, Bible Study, music, and technology.
Andy enjoys a good cup of coffee and the latest Max Lucado book. Also, he finds joy in drawing and painting, genealogy research, a good campfire, and naps on a hammock. (He used to enjoy a ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle … but that’s another story.)
Andy and Tina first met as young teenagers in High School. This year they celebrate 40 years of marriage. Together Andy and Tina enjoy camping and hiking, particularly in the Adirondack Mountains; spending time with their children and grandchildren, and fully immersing their lives with God’s people that soon become their church family.
In their 35 years of ministry, Andy and Tina have been amazed by witnessing what God has done when His people fully trust and rely on the work of the Holy Spirit. We look forward to witnessing God’s continued amazement with the PAUMC | Fresh Start church family.
Hello, my name is Nicole Matosan and I am pleased to be the Associate Pastor of PAUMC FRESH START. I am truly blessed to be married to my wonderful husband Harmony, a mother to my children Amanda, Derek, Torie, and Ariela, and grandmother aka “Mimi,” to my two grandchildren Colton and Camreigh.
My passion is to serve, spread the word of God, and let others know how much God loves them, no matter what!
I love spending time with my family, and animals, fishing, kayaking, shooting skeet and riding 4 Wheelers in the mud. The woods and any body of water always bring me peace. But what I love the most is mission work, encouraging others, and talking about Jesus. There is no better feeling in the world than helping others, and telling them about who Jesus is, and what He did for them!
My Vision is to see God’s church working together to bring the Word of God, and the love of Jesus Christ to everyone, and to unite people in worship, and fellowship. We are Better Together!
My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
